Haruka Sensei is a wonderful teacher and explains everything so well! She has a great mix of fun and learning in her lessons. She also does a great job of listening to feedback from her students and adjusting her classes as necessary. Definitely recommend!

Haruka sensei was my Japanese teacher for 4 years now since I wanted to take Japanese seriously. She has been nothing but helpful and kind throughout my learning journey. She provides great insight and explains the nuance between confusing and similiar vocabulary and grammar and ensures full understanding. I was able to pass N2 last year and I could have not done it without her. I will continue to study with her and she’s the best Japanese teacher you could ask for.

Haruka sensei was a fabulous tutor for me for the past 3 months, in preparation for a trip to Japan. I learned some Japanese 50 years ago so it was challenging to find the right type of class to meet my needs. Haruka sensei quickly assessed my strengths and weaknesses and created a learning plan to meet my budget. The one hour lessons were fun. She has great energy and is well organized. Haruka sensei sent me some notes after each class and advised what to prepare for the next lesson. For several of the lessons, it was a group lesson with one other student, a few were one on one. I highly recommend Haruka sensei. I am a little sad to be winding down this learning, with my upcoming trip.

I really enjoyed my 2-on-1 Japanese classes with Haruka-sensei. She is incredibly energetic and brings a lot of enthusiasm to every lesson, making the class fun and engaging. Her positive energy keeps everyone motivated, which really helps with building confidence in speaking Japanese. The class style is quite conversational and can sometimes feel a bit like a test. While it’s great for pushing us to speak more, it can be a little stressful at times. Incorporating more practical exercises where we can practise and demonstrate our understanding in a relaxed setting would be helpful. Haruka-sensei does share class notes for most classes, which I really appreciate. Having them more consistently would make it easier to review and reinforce what we’ve learned. I also feel that one class a week isn’t quite enough to cover all the material in depth. I would take additional classes dedicated to going through the materials at a more comfortable pace. Overall, I had a wonderful experience learning with Haruka-sensei and my classmates. I appreciate her dedication and passion for teaching, and I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made in my Japanese. I am taking a pause due to personal reasons and I look forward to return learning with Haruka sensei. Thank you, Haruka-sensei!

Haruka is a highly skilled Japanese prof! She is efficient and well organized. Her classes follow a clear structure which makes learning Japanese a smooth process. She is funny and has a great sense of humour which makes her classes fun and enjoyable. Learning Japanese is not easy but if you put in the time and effort you can do it! And Haruka encourages you to always do your best!

Haruka sensei, is hands down one of the best Japanese teachers and teachers in general, that I have had the pleasure of learning from. She is great at identifying where you struggle and creating custom learning plans around your needs so you can improve and hit your goals. You can tell she cares about her students and their progress. Haruka Sensei also teaches alot of the context around Japanese language /culture and everyday modern Japanese, explaining everything in a way that is clear and makes sense. I’ve done her group, semiprivate, and individual lessons. All have been helpful. While her classes are on the more expensive side. If you are serious about learning Japanese, it is worth every single cent. I’ve learned more and faster than I did at a language school in japan!

Fantastic positive energy and very well thought out lesson plans.

The purpose of taking lessons was for a trip to Japan with my friends. We all have different allergies and were concerned about food. Haruka Sensei was excellent at teaching me dining vocabulary, allergies, and etiquette . I had to use it multiple times and was able to get alternatives. She’s a fun teacher and used multiple teaching methods (ie, repetition, role play, PDF). Would definitely recommend for short or long term learning of Japanese.

Haruka was absolutely awesome! Myself, my 13-year old daughter, and my husband all LOVED Haruka. She catered each lesson to exactly what we wanted to know (which was pretty specific), and she provided additional tips about culture that were so appreciated. Coming back from our trip, we realize how much better our trip to Japan was because we had these lessons. We are so grateful to Haruka. Haruka is very patient with new students and can identify their strengths and weaknesses to figure out which areas to improve on. We use a textbook for the basis of our lessons, but Haruka is very open to the student bringing material they want to work on such as JLPT or focusing on speaking if one wishing to travel to Japan. Haruka is very kind and tries to make every lesson fun and worthwhile and she has yet to disappoint.

Haruka has been a great teacher so far for me! I’ve been with her for a couple of months and she has put in a lot of effort to tailor the lessons specifically for me! She is very kind and understanding, and compared to other teachers I’ve had in the past, she has been really good at explaining concepts that confused me and taking the time to make sure that I understood before moving on. The notes that she has prepared for the lessons are visually helpful and she has also help create notes for myself to study from. Haruka is a wonderful teacher and I would recommend her for anyone looking to learn Japanese!

Haruka is a talented and warm teacher. She has amazing energy in teaching through play, song, and interest.
